About Us

Emily Winakur, PHD

Dr. Winakur has been in private practice as a licensed psychologist in the Bellaire area for several years. A native of San Antonio, she attended Rice University for undergraduate studies. She received her PhD in counseling psychology from the University of Miami, completed her pre-doctoral internship at Harvard University, and her post-doctoral fellowship in the VA system. She enjoys working with a diverse clientele in terms of age, cultural background, and presenting problems. When not at work, Dr. Winakur enjoys spending time with her family and golden retriever, as well as writing poetry, essays, and fiction.

Isabella Gonzalez

Isabella, our part-time intern, is a senior at Rice University majoring in Psychology and Sociology. She is originally from San Antonio, Texas, and has experience in community outreach and health disparities research. After college, she plans to pursue grad school for sociology, and is especially interested in community-engaged research and advocacy.
